About Casey Shontz
My Story
I grew up in Texas. I started making videos as soon as I got my hands on an iPad. I ran my own YouTube channel throughout my grade school career. I have always been imaginative, creative and intent on sharing my creations with the world. I have experimented in many art and storytelling forms, including jewelry making, sculpture, sewing, painting, and music, and I'm always trying new mediums. Through all my experimenting, I found that while other interests have come and gone, my passion for filmmaking has never dwindled.
I started my own film company, Pink Pillow Media, when I was 16. In between my junior and senior years of high school, I made my first film under the company name. Since then, I have rebranded the company to Dancing Wizard Productions. The new branding reflects my love of fantasy films and my philosophy of combining wisdom with whimsy.
Years ago, I also discovered my love of makeup as an art form. I post records of my makeup art on my public instagram account, @caseyshontzmakeup.
For 3.5 years I was a full-time student at Lamar University. I have made several film projects at Lamar, independent short films under Dancing Wizard Productions, and collaborated with others on their projects. All of these works can be found on my portfolio page.

I moved out to Carlsbad, California in November 2025, and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Communication - Film.
Goals
One of my main goals in my career is to increase visibility for marginalized people through representation in entertainment media. As a non-binary and neurodivergent person, I know the difference positive and accurate representation can make for people. By combining my storytelling abilities and passion with my desire to improve the lives of others, I hope to make a positive impact.

While my ultimate goal is to create my own amazing narrative films, my creativity and skills can be put to work on any film project. My experience in video editing, videography, lighting, acting, and screenwriting, as well as film project management and communication makes me a great collaborator for whatever your film needs may be.
